We give God the praise and glory for allowing us to open this winter and provide shelter for the men in our community! We are thankful to announce that we are procuring a temporary permit at our former location, The Salvation Army, 1101 S. Madison. Now, we need YOU!
The new vision that God placed on our hearts prompted us to restructure the ministry. Instead of Church/Business Teams responsible for everything when serving, we will approach individual responsibilities using Missional Teams that will serve once a week or twice a month (depending on the team). We believe that serving through Missional Teams will provide more service continuity while fostering relationships. We are excited about this change and hope you are as well!
Please take time to read through the attached documents and see where you would love to serve. Whether you would like to put together a Kitchen Team of 8 friends that serves twice a month or would prefer to have us plug you in to any existing team, there is something for you. Perhaps you would prefer to bring your friend or spouse and spend the night once every 2 weeks? Again, there are lots of opportunities to serve. Just let us know where!
Our start date will be delayed as we have much to do to prepare before our opening on Sunday November 20th!
For those referring Men to the Shelter;Doors open 6-8:00PM. Please do not come early as there is a ‘NO LOITERING ORDER IN PLACE’.
Please read the following letter from the Hospitality INC Board explaining that structural issues were found, resulting in the necessity to stop pursuing the homeless shelter mission proposal with Community Church. Our church family also extends prayers that emergency shelter can be provided for the homeless men of the area for the coming winter.
