Join us to worship the Lord on September 24, 2023, at 9:30 am. Pastor Brett’s topic is “The Righteous Live By Their Faith” Our scriptures are Habakkuk 1:1-4, Galatians 3:7-14, and Habakkuk 2:1-4.
Synopsis: Many people look at Habakkuk 2:4 and state that the message of Habakkuk can be summarized in this one statement; “the righteous live by their faith.” Jerome Creach in his book, “The Destiny of the Righteous in the Psalms” convincingly argues that the term “righteous” in not first and foremost a moral term, but rather first a relational term. Righteous people have a relationship with God and they depend on Him, they trust in Him for everything. We’ll explore this idea of righteousness this Sunday.

Synopsis: The prophet Habakkuk was called at a difficult time. He was awaiting the brutal Babylonian invasion of Judah. Things looked dismal, threatening, and uncertain. We have all faced these times in our lives, some seemingly hopeless. This was the case here, and Habakkuk responds, “Yet, I will rejoice in the Lord!” It is never the circumstances that shape us, but our response to them.
