College Scholarship Application 2023-24
Community Church Scholarship Application for Educational Assistance
Guidelines:
* Applicants must have grown up or currently reside in Mason County, Michigan.
* Applicants must plan to attend a two (2)-year community college, a four (4)-year college or university, or an accredited vocational or trade school.
* Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the college, not the student. The scholarship funds will be issued to the college or university upon receiving a certificate of enrollment for the fall semester, which includes the Student ID number and Financial Aid Office address.
* Applications must be received by Community Church no later than Monday, April 3rd, 2023. Late applications will not be accepted.

Applications can also be scanned and emailed to Co**************@gm***.com. The church secretary will acknowledge receipt of scholarship applications.
The applications will be reviewed and recipients selected by the Community Church’s Scholarship Committee. The scholarships will be awarded in June of 2023. Submission of this application also gives permission to make the applicant’s name and scholarship type public.
Students who are qualified can receive an application:

January 15th – Faith: Trusting in God
Come and worship with us on Sunday, January 15, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. ! Pastor Brett’s topic is “Faith: Trusting in God.” Our scriptures are Daniel 3:13-18, Luke 8:40-48, and Hebrews 11:1-13. Find us live on YouTube @CommunityChurchLudington if you can’t attend in-person.
Synopsis: Our passage from Hebrews Sunday tells us that, “faith is the confidence in what we hope for and the assurance about what we do not see.” Trust is rooted and found in this faith and knowledge of God. We have faith and trust in God because what we know about the truth of His Word.
Faith and trust are found in not only hearing and believing, but in action and obedience to God’s Word. We will look at a few examples today of just that.
Sunday, January 8: Jesus’ Baptism and Its Meaning for Us

Synopsis: This Sunday we move from the season of Advent and Christmas and on to the season of Epiphany. Epiphany being defined as the sudden understanding of something; in this case the revealing of Jesus, the Messiah, not just to the Jewish people, but to the Gentiles as well. One of our lectionary passages details Jesus’ baptism, another the prophecy of that baptism, and a third detailing Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection. So, the question, what does this all mean to us, and more importantly, how should Jesus’ baptism, life, death, and resurrection impact our lives?

Christmas Eve Service at 8 p.m. – CANCELLED
Our service for Christmas Eve and Christmas day have both been cancelled due to ongoing blizzard conditions. Pastor Brett shared this message on Facebook today:
The bulletin includes scriptures for the Old Testament prophecies about Christ’s birth, so is a good item to read this Christmas even though we will not worship together.
Community Christmas Eve Dinner


Come to the Christmas Eve Community Dinner is being served at Community Church, 109 N. Harrison St. in Ludington on December 24th from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. in the church dining room. No reservation necessary! Drop in for this free meal.
The Community Church of Ludington is hosting a free Christmas Eve dinner for the entire community. The dinner will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on December 24th in the church’s dining room. Meal deliveries will go to those who have made reservations. Volunteers will make deliveries between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
The dinners will be catered by Gloria Ann’s Catering, with the menu to include sliced ham, cheesy potatoes, corn, cranberry salad, dinner roll, and dessert.
Community Church is located at the corner of Harrison and Court streets in Ludington, at 109 North Harrison Street. Attendees are advised to enter the building on Harrison Street and follow ushers to the dining room.
Community Church’s candlelight Christmas Eve service at is at 8 p.m. that is open to all who wish to attend. The service is also streamed live on YouTube @CommunityChurchLudington.
