Palm Sunday, April 13: Popularity versus Purpose

Worship the Lord with us at 10 am on Palm Sunday, April 13, 2025. Pastor Brett’s topic is “Popularity versus Purpose” with scriptures that include Zechariah 9:9-10, Luke 19:28-40, and Luke 19:41-48.

This Sunday we celebrate Palm Sunday. Jesus enters Jerusalem exactly as Zechariah prophesied, “humble, riding on a on a donkey, a colt, the foal of a donkey.” He hears the cries of hosanna, “blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord.” In His heart though, Jesus knew that this popularity would be fleeting and within a week their cries would go from hosanna to crucify. Praise be to God, Jesus chose God’s will, God’s purpose over popularity.
