Worship with us at Community Church this Sunday, January 14, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. Pastor Brett’s topic is “Expectations.” Our scriptures include Hosea 11:1-4, Matthew 2:1-12, and Matthew 2:13-23.
Synopsis: We enter each year with certain expectations and sometimes they become reality, but often we are taken down a different path. Certainly, that was the case for Joseph and Mary. No way did they expect to have a child and no way could they have foreseen a year or so before, their being sent now to Egypt to avoid Herod’s wrath. Hosea prophesied this would happen, but no one could see this little known, prophetic statement prior to the events surrounding Jesus’ birth and childhood. We will all face detours in life, the question is, how do we respond, who do we lean on when these detours occur?
